George was born in 1860, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. He was a farmer. George died on 3 September 1943, at 66 King Edward Road, Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, aged 83. The cause of death is listed as hemiplegia, shock and heart failure. His intended place of burial is Bloemfontein. George's will, dated 14 August 1942 is held in Estate files, Orange Free State #35529

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ME:
    GEORGE MORGAN
Retired Farmer, at present residing at 66, King Edward Road, Bloemfontein.
  I GIVE AND BEQUEATH:
  (a) To my son GEORGE HAROLD MORGAN, my gold watch and chain
  (b) To my Stepson JOHN MCKENZIE JOHNSON my golden diamond pin
  (c) To my Son-in-law ALFRED EDWARD SMITH my signet ring.
  I DIRECT that any expenses in the case of my death shall be paid from such monies I may leave and subject to such payments I nominate and appoint my Stepchildren and Children, namely:
    ELIZA BEATRICE SMITH.
    ANNIE JEMIMA AIREY.
    JOHN MCKENZIE JOHNSON.
    EMILY LUCY RAATH.
    ALICE LOUISA BOYES, and
    GEORGE HAROLD MORGAN.
to be sole and universal heirs, in equal shares, of the residue of my Estate, whether such Estate be in possession, expectancy or remainder, nothing excepted.
  I NOMINATE AND APPOINT my Son-in-Law, ALFRED EDWARD SMITH of Bloemfontein, to be the sole Executor of this my Will and Administrator of my Estate, hereby giving and granting unto him all such powers and privileges as are allowed in law, especially that of assumption and hereby exempting him from having to furnish security in these offices.
THUS DONE AND SIGNED AT BLOEMFONTEIN this 14th day of August, 1942, in the presence of the following witnesses all being present at the same time.

      TESTAMENT
THIS is the last WILL and TESTAMENT of me
    SELINA LUCY MORGAN,
born Dawes, formerly Johnson, married out of community of property to George Morgan of Bloemfontein.
  I hereby revoke and annul all Wills and other Testamentary Acts heretofore made and passed by me.
  I do hereby give and bequeath all my Estate and Effects, nothing excepted unto my children and grandchildren in the following shares, namely :-
  (1) One-eighth share to my daughter ELIZA BEATRICE SMITH, born Johnson, or her lawful heirs.
  (2) One-eighth share to my daughter ANNIE JEMIMA AIREY, born Johnson, or her lawful heirs.
  (3) One-eighth share to my son JOHN MCKENZIE JOHNSON, or his lawful heirs.
  (4) One-eighth share to my granddaughter MARY LUCY JOHNSON, daughter of my deceased son William Stonewall Johnson, or her lawful heirs.
  (5) One-eighth share to my grandson ROBERT THOMAS BOYES, son of my deceased daughter MARY FLORENCE BOYES, born Johnson, or his lawful heirs.
  (6) One-eighth share to my daughter EMILY LUCY RAAFF, born Morgan, or her lawful heirs.
  (7) One-eighth share to my daughter ALICE LOUISA BOYES, born Morgan, or her lawful heirs.
and (8) One-eighth share to my don GEORGE HAROLD MORGAN, or his lawful heirs.
  The foregoing bequests shall, however, be subject to the usufruct of the whole of my Estate and Effects, nothing excepted, in favour of my husband GEORGE MORGAN, during his life time.
  I hereby nominate and appoint my son-in-law ALFRED EDWARD SMITH, to be Executor of this my Will and Administrator of my Estate, hereby giving and granting him all such power and authority as are allowed by law, and directing that my said Executor and Administrator shall not be required to find security in these offices.
THUS done and signed at BLOEMFONTEIN this 26th day of April in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty Four, in the presence of the subscribing witnesses, all being present at the same time.
