Married: to Thomas Cadye, of Ipswich.
Notes: Thomas's surname is spelled Cadye in the Visitation of 1561, but corrected to Cady in the Blois MSS.

Notes: Edmond's name is Edmond in the Visitation, but the Blois MSS records him as Edward or Edwan (it is difficult to decipher). The British Museum Add MSS 19133 (author and date unknown) lists him as Edward or Edmund, but this manuscript is believed to be derived from the Blois MSS and thus doesn't add any further weight.

On his death, John left properties at Otley and at Clopton. This connection with Clopton implies a kinship with a Thomas Gosenell, of Clopton, whose will is dated 20 December 1464, and was probated 9 February 1465. This will mentions Thomas's wife Isabell, and a son William. Possibly, John and Thomas were brothers.

Notes: John built Otley Hall (during the reign of Henry VII, 1485-1509) to replace the original Netherhall Manor. Part of the original foundation and moat of Netherhall Manor can be seen today, a short distance from Otley Hall. John was the holder of the sinecure office of Stewart at Framesden in a 1491 reference ("John Gosenoll fil. John Gosenoll de Ottley").
The Gosnold arms at this time (per pale crenelle or and azure) are quartered with arms identified as belonging to the Person family (argent, a fleur-de-lis sable charged with three bezants)
