Montague Groome writes in his Groome family tree that Nannie's husband
was "Maj. Powell", but I have been unable to find corroboration of this
rank. A Nathaniel Robert Powell is listed in the Irish Jurist 1849, p87 as having been
admitted to the degree of Barrister on January 18th.
A Nathaniel
J. Powell, aged 20, appears in the 1881
census at the London home of Annette's sister, Frances (Groome)
Hardy. It is likely that this is a son of Nathaniel Robert Powell and
Annette (Groome) Powell. He is shown as born in 'Dublin Belt Rock"
which I guess is a mistranscription of "Dublin Blackrock".
