CARPENDALE-SMART-On the 12th inst., at St. Jude's, Southsea, by the Vicar, the Rev. J. S. Blake, John Maxwell, Lieutenant 8th Bengal Cavalry, son of the late Colonel Carpendale, R.E., to Amy Wyndham, daughter of the late W. C. Smart, Esq., C.E. of Concordia, South America.

Amy's dress is detailed in a social column describing the Royal Visit of the Duke and Duchess of Connaught to Fort William, where her husband was Garrison Quartermaster:
"Mrs. Carpendale was in a beautiful grape shade of velvet, the skirt in front opening over an under panel of lighter material and the whole decorated with some rich trimming which made the gown one of the most effective present."

Death: 12 May 1927

Probate: "Carpendale, Amelia Wyndham of 9 Osney Crescent, Paignton, Devonshire (wife of ) died 12 May 1927. Probate, London, 23 June [1927] to said  John Maxwell Carpendale retired Lieutenant-Colonel H M Indian Army. Effects £178 1s 10d "
