He had not long been married, when he returned home his wife had given birth to a baby girl, whom she had called Babba Jueqetta after the ship her husband had sailed on. photo courtesy of www.gravestonephotos.com
Occupation: Agricultural labourer

Death:
1962, in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England

Buried: 1962, in Stowlangtoft, Suffolk, England, aged 84.

Notes: Amanda Robinson, in Mandy's Twigs, records Walters death date as 1962, in Bury St Edmunds. This is unsourced, but Amanda is a relatively close family member of Walter's. The death date is copied over into Pauline Biggs's entried in Rootsweb WorldConnect. The gravestone photo shown here (from www.gravestonephotos.com) is intriguing - I believe it to be that of this Walter and Elizabeth Maud Foreman (no other suitable marriage between a Walter Foreman and Elizabeth is recorded in the Marriage Index, and Elizabeth's age at death matches well with her birth date). The problem is that the transcription of the writing on the gravestone shows a death date of 1968 (aged 84). I just can't read the year on Walter's side of the gravestone, even with as much digital manipulation of the photo as I am capable of. Walter would have been 84 in 1862, so my best interpretation of the data is that Walter died in 1962, either in Bury St Edmunds itself, or in Stowlangtoft which, since 1935, was part of the Bury St Edmunds registration district, and that the gravestone has been partially mistranscribed.
