- 1901 census; in
the 1891 census, Sydney Hall is shown as the son of George Hall and
Emily Eliza (Shaw) Hall, although more than 13 years younger than his
next older sibling. In the 1901 census, Sydney Underwood is shown as
the son of Frederick George Underwood and Elizabeth Mary Hall.
Frederick and Elizabeth were married in 1892. My best guess is that
Sydney's real parents were Elizabeth and probably Frederick, although
it is possible that he really was the son of George and Emily and then
adopted by Elizabeth and Frederick.
