IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW SOUTH WALES - Probate Jurisdictlon. - In the Will and Codicil thereto of WILLIAM HENRY SHEPHERD late of Ballina In the State of New South Wales Retired Farmer deceased. - Pursuant to the Wills, Probate and Administration Act, 1896, the Testator's Family Maintenance and Guardianship of Infants Act, 1916, and the Trustee Act, 1925, Notice is hereby given that all creditors or other persons having any claim against the Estate of the above-named deceased, who died on the 30th March 1931, and Probate of whose Will was granted by the Supreme Court of New South Wales in its Probate Jurisdiction on the fourth day of May 1931 to RICHARD SIDNEY SHEPHERD and FRANCIS HENRY McCUTCHEON the Executors named in the said Will and Codicil thereto are hereby required to send in particulars of their claims to the said Executors in care of the undersigned, at their offices hereunder mentioned, on or before the eighth day of September next at the expiration of which time the said Executors will proceed to distribute the assets of the said deceased among the persons entitled thereto, having regard only to the debts and claims of which they shall then have had notice. Essie was born Kathleen Essie Callaghan in 1894 in Ballina district, the daughter of Andrew Callaghan and Rachel Cooper. She died on 6 December 1970, aged 75 years According to this transcription of the inscription on her headstone Essie died on 6 December 1990, aged 75 years. That would place her birth in 1914/5, obviously incompatible with her marriage in 1916. The Richmond River Historical Society obituary index lists Essie's death in 1970. Essie is buried in East Ballina cemetery, in the same grave as her husband, William. Her headstone reads:
